The Writer's Forum is not only about supporting writers in their
craft but we hope that through regular productions that we can
entertain people with a mix of both original and classic writing.
Based on the music and lyrics of Merseyside bard Tim Kingham,
Living River is the working title for a new play.
Inspired by the abundant history of Wirral; the play looks at the
people who were left behind by their loved ones during the period of
the Napoleonic Wars.
The play is currently at 1st draft stage and we shall soon be
looking for actors to participate in workshops and readings.
The Writer's Forum Productions will soon be holding a competition for the writers of monologues. All the shortlisted entries shall be performed at a special one night only event in Wirral. The event is expected to be held in early 2012 so watch this space for more information.
Following the success of our previous events in association with Wirral Libraries, we are creating a small team of actors who will be available to perform Bite Size Bard events. With a mix of monologues scenes and speeches, we'll be showcasing all of your favourite characters from Shakespeare's plays. In particular we are putting together a short tour of 12 events in late summer/early autumn.
This play, written by TWF owner Martin Nelson, is currently in rehearsal and we shall be showing the play at the Leverhulme Festival 2011. The show goes up on the 12th of April and the evening begins at 7:30pm. Tickets are available at the price of £6 from the Gladstone Theatre. You can see an extract of the script here.
In association with Wirral Libraries we've arranged a series of Shakespeare themed events. With a mix of monologues scenes and speeches, we'll be showcasing all of your favourite characters from Shakespeare's plays.
